I’m not your typical scrapper. At least I *think* I’m not. Most people have a general operating procedure for how they start a page. Some people begin with the photos. Some people begin with a sketch. Me? I start with whatever seems to inspire me in the moment. It can be photos, a sketch, a color scheme, a challenge, papers, or anything else that tickles my fancy.
Recently I decided to start with a title. I’ve had this banner in my stash for a while. It reads, “The Little Things really are the big things.” It’s something that I try to keep in mind. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I succeed. I knew there had to be something in my set of photos that matched that sentiment for me.
These photos are from the one vacation my husband and I have gone on since our honeymoon. It was only a 3 day getaway in a local town, but it was divine. This was the sunset view from the house we stayed in. I wouldn’t trade those moments for the world.
The fun part of this layout was being able to throw in a couple of pops of orange. I’m not a huge fan of orange, but it worked so well with a sunset photo. I’m adoring those brads. Please note, I almost NEVER use brads. I have such a hard time placing them. It’s not like you can move them once you’ve punched the hole through the paper!
With those cute brads, the wood veneer starbursts, and one of my favorite papers in the world, I really like this simple layout. And to think… it all started with a title.
